Since opening the world's first women's safe house in London in 1971, Refuge has grown to become the UK's largest organisation of its kind, helping and supporting women and children experiencing domestic violence and acting as a national 'lifeline' for up to 80,000 victims of domestic abuse every year.

Crisis campaigns on behalf of and works with the most vulnerable homeless people in the country. It develops and runs innovative projects that provide lasting solutions to homelessness, including: the provision of accommodation, access to education and training for employment and research into causes of homelessness.

Shelter is a national campaigning charity working to improve the lives of homeless and badly housed people. Shelter's vision is that everyone should have a home - somewhere decent, safe, affordable and permanent.
